Hello people…It’s a holiday Monday (in Camer)…Happy Eid El Kabir to all our muslim readers!
Some news from the world of movies…
Lupita Nyongo’o looked stunning in her blue and yellow ensemble at yesterday’s movie premiere of Disney’s Queen of Katwe at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“Queen of Katwe” is based on the true story of a Ugandan girl named Phiona Mutesi (played in the movie by newcomer Madina Nalwanga), who became a chess champion. But the film is also about Phiona’s impoverished life with her friends and family — including her mother, Harriet, who’s played by Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o — in the Katwe area of Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
Here is a clip of the movie courtesy of the Wall Street Journal of Phiona and her chess coach Robert Katende (David Oyelowo). The film is directed by Mira Nair (“Monsoon Wedding”)
