7 LESSONS FROM BEAUTY BRANDS I FOLLOW ON INSTAGRAM

Hello people..It’s xxx…Hope you enjoyed the long Easter weekend!

I love INSTAGRAM…OK that is an understatement lol..I follow quite a number of Beauty brands and they have mastered Branding to the T…

Here is what I have learnt from following Beauty brands on IG

Let’s get Branding!!

Be Consistent

Branding Lesson #1. Be Consistent. In your messaging, colours, posts, Product/services/company information across social media platforms. etc. Make it easy for your customers to find you!

Keep it Crisp & Visual!

Instagram is such a great Branding and marketing tool is because it is visual. A pictures says a thousand words..Keep it crisp..The quality of images go a long way to selling your brand!

Focus on the products

Focus on your products. There are many brands out there with great products but they focus too much about what the products can do than on the products themselves. If you are a beauty brand and most of your posts are of well made up faces…You may be conveying a different message.(e.g make up artist/academy).Showcase what your products can do but do not loose focus! I like how these brands add the lipstick, nail polish to the images.

Same goes for service…People want what you do..Give tips, expert advise. Showcase your work and some behind the scenes pictures/videos so people can relto real projects

Showcase the collection

Still part of showcasing your products but a collection/range of products showcased together shows the diversity of your product offering. Add the names of the shades/colours to make it easier for customers to purchase.

Collaborating with similar or complementary brands is a win win.

Promos are a great way to ramp up sales. e.g. Discount %, Free shipping, Buy one get one free etc.

Influencers rock!

People follow people!!Influencers make brands connect to existing and potential customers. They add value to your products and make them come to life..An influencer can make great content especially a video go viral! Bloggers & influencers are a brands best friends. E.g. bloggers can showcase your products (services, events etc), do product reviews. etc

  1. What an informative post! I agree with all of your points and yes beauty influencers are very good with branding. The main take away from this is that influencers connect brands to the right audience and if it means collaborating with other influencers (the right ones with similar interests), doing giveaways etc then it should be done. Love some of the examples of the IG accounts you provided.
